Marina Project – Porte du Non-Retour

The government of Benin has been developing since 2016 a vast program of tourism promotion throughout Benin revealed. Among these is the enhancement of the historic city of Ouidah through several projects including the design and development of the Marina Hotel Complex near “La porte du non-retour” in Djègbadji. The realization of this infrastructure will contribute to developing the tourist offer of Benin in general and that of the city of Ouidah in particular.

The complex includes in particular:
● a vodoun arena for the celebration of endogenous religions and various cultural events
● two parking lots with more than 350 places;
● gardens of remembrance;
● the tourist esplanade with restaurants, bars and entertainment sites;
● the historical reconstruction of a slave ship;
● a hotel area with approximately 130 rooms;
● an artisanal village, Zomachi,
● the annex of the tourist office;
● the floating promenade on the lagoon and
● a garden of recollection.

The work started on July 20, 2020 with the installation of the base. They will last 24 months.
